Fluidized Bed

The fluidized bed gasification is one of the more common and relatively simple gasification technologies. The system passes oxygen or steam upwards through the biomass to fluidize it, uses lower temperatures than other gasification methods, and provides consistent yields of 70-75 wt% (weight percentage). It performs best with small biomass particles and results in a fuel that forms a corrosive ash1. Fluidized bed gasifiers have scale-up limitations2.
